Broomhaugh CE First School has a big heart and a passion for supporting the local community and the wider world. All members of our school community take an active role in looking after God’s world. We are striving to maintain our status as a Climate Friendly School and limit the impact that we have upon the climate and the planet. The work we carry out in school fully supports both Northumberland County Council’s and the DfE’s aim to be Net Zero by 2030.

Year 3 and 4 focus on Global Goal 3: Good Health and Well-Being

Ensuring healthy lives and promoting well-being for all is essential to sustainable development.

Key Aspects for our oldest learners:

·  Mental Health Awareness - helping pupils understand and manage their emotions, build resilience, and develop a growth mindset. Encouraging empathy and understanding among peers, fostering a sense of community and support.

·  Healthy Lifestyles & Nutrition - education on balanced diets, self-care, the importance of regular exercise, and promoting hygiene (e.g.handwashing).

·  Preventive Measures and Global Awareness - health education, vaccination and the global impact
